Beginning Wednesday, November 1, 2017 and continuing through the end of November, the Irwindale Police Department will participate in “No-Shave November” to raise awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate and colon cancers.

The Irwindale Police Department believes that a healthy community is a happy community.  When people are healthy, it has a positive impact on their physical, mental, and social well being.

We also believe that as a law enforcement agency, we are in a unique position to have a positive impact on the community through our many interactions with them in a variety of situations.  To help us encourage living a healthy lifestyle through these interactions, the Irwindale Police Department is participating in “No-Shave November” throughout the month of November.  “No-Shave November” is a worthy nationwide cause that raises awareness of men’s health issues and helps to support healthy and stress-free lives.

For a small donation, male Irwindale police officers and staff members have the option of growing facial hair (a moustache, goatee or beard) throughout the month of November.  For the ladies wishing to participate, a flower arrangement or large bow may be worn in their hair while at work.  The facial hair for men and flower arrangement for the ladies are intended to stimulate conversations with the community about men’s health issues and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

The public can support our efforts by making a donation directly to our “No-Shave November” Team Page at  All donations raised during “No-Shave November” will go to support department members suffering from cancer and/or men’s related health issues and to “No-Shave November,” a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
