If a major disaster occurs, police, fire and paramedic services will be severely strained. The community must be prepared to provide for their immediate life saving and life sustaining needs following a disaster.

CERT Training Classes provide basic training in safety and life saving skills for the general public. CERT members are trained in basic disaster response skills including disaster preparedness, fire suppression, CERT team organization, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department will be providing a FREE 7-week CERT training course to Irwindale area residents each Tuesday night beginning February 13, 2018 and continuing through Tuesday March 27, 2018.

Classes will be held at the Irwindale City Council Chambers located at 5050 N. Irwindale Avenue, Irwindale, CA 91706 and will take place between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm each Tuesday night.

To enroll, contact Alicia Mejia at (626) 732-3531 or by email at alicia.mejia@fire.lacounty.gov.
